Jerome "Larry Jerry" Hobel, 83, passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 in his home. Born June 2, 1930 in Rockford. He was a former Rockford Civil Defense Director and Fire Marshall. He enjoyed doing flea markets and was a faithful Democrat. Veteran of U.S. Army. Survivors include, brother, Jerald (Joyce) Hobel of Rockford; and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.
Memorial service in spring 2014. Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL 61107 assisted the family. Memorials to Salvation Army.
