Dorothy Bennett, 97, died 8:30 am, Mon. March 8, 2010 in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born Aug. 24, 1912 in Mt. Carroll, IL, daughter of George and Luva Asay. Married to Andrew Bennett in Mr. Carroll, IL Mar. 1, 1934. He predeceased her Nov. 16, 1973. Formally worked at Sylvia's Fashion for 16 years, retiring in 1994. Member of Calvary Lutheran Church and of Rachel Circle. Dorothy graduated from Mt. Carroll High School class of 1930. Survivors include: son, Gerald (Mary) Bennett of Virginia, 3 grandchildren, 1 sister, Frances Roberts of Mt. Carroll, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Services at 1:30 pm, Wed. March 10, 2010 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 . Sixth St., Rockford, IL 61107, with Dr. Chuck Olson Pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church and Chaplain at P.A. Peterson Home officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
