Cesare Coppotelli

Cesare Coppotelli, 75 of Rockford, died May 22, 2010 after a long illness. Born Feb. 1, 1935 in Ferentino, Italy, Cesare immigrated to the United States in 1957 after marrying Remigia DalPra. He worked as a machinist and retired from Rockwell Graphics after 22 years of service. His passion was tending his garden and he enjoyed sharing his harvest with family and friends. In later years he could be found most mornings walking along the Sinnissippi Bike Path, making friends and sharing stories along the way. ‘Papa' Cesare's legacy is his family. Survivors include his son, Robert, of Dallas, TX and his daughter Mirella "Mimi" Kuczynski of Rockford; grandchildren, Kathryn, Bradley and Dominick Kuczynski; and great grandson, Aiden Cesare, all of Rockford. Preceded in death by wife, Remigia and two brothers.
Visitation from 4:30 to 7:30 pm on Wed., May 26, 2010 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL. Graveside services and burial at 11 am on Thurs., May 27, 2010 in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
