Bruce Polcek,72, loving husband, father and grandfather, died at 8:02 p.m., Sat., February 27, 2010 in Swedish American Hospital Heart Hospital. Born Feb. 20, 1938 in the Bronx, NY, the son of Harry and Denise (Halbrohr) Polcek. Married the former Norma Futerman in Yonkers, NY. He began his career as a stock boy in a shoe store and worked his way up to become President of French Shriner Shoe Corp. in Beloit, WI. Bruce graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, New York and from Hunter College of the City University of New York. He was a life-long devoted NY Yankees fan, and loved nothing more than ballroom dancing with his wife, daughters and granddaughter. Survivors: wife, Norma; daughters: Sharyn (Bob) Schneiderman of Boca Raton, FL, Alyssa Jae Polcek of New York, NY, and Heidi (David) Ruud of Bloomfield Hills, MI; 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Marc, Samantha, and Matthew; special niece and nephew, Wendy (Bob) Weiner and Mitchell (Geri) Cohen. Predeceased by his parents and a sister, Constance Cohen. Service 3:00 p.m., Monday, Mar. 1, 2010 in Temple Beth El, 1203 Comanche Dr., Rockford.
