Anna Keriz, 85, of Cherry Valley, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning on September 8, 2012. Anna was a quiet, kind and gentle soul, who loved her husband, Steve Keriz, her two children, Steve and Vicky, and their spouses, Lidiya and Joe. Born in Belarus in 1927 she survived the difficulties of World War II and was very thankful to be able to immigrate to New York City in 1949 where she met her husband. They were married in Baltimore, MD in 1956 where both children were born. The family moved to Rockford, IL in 1962 and to Cherry Valley, IL in 1979, where Anna survived breast cancer and spent the remainder of her life in their beautiful countryside home.
Services are at 10:00 AM at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church, 1802 Pershing Ave., Rockford on Wednesday September 12th. Visitation on Tuesday, September 11th from 5 to 7 PM in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth Street, Rockford.
