Alvin Liebling Obituary

Alvin Liebling, 86, passed away peacefully October 1, 2013, in Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He was a senior U.S . Administrative Law Judge, former Justice Dept. Attorney Environmental Protection Agency Counsel, Northwestern University Lecturer, published editor and Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Leona (nee Lewin) Liebling; and brother-in-law, Jordan Smith. He is survived by loving sister, Dorothy Smith of CA; nephew, Stephen Smith of CA; a niece, Adena (Alan) Herbst of NY; loving father of Lisa Clare Liebling of Chicago; devoted husband of Jacquelyn Lister Liebling; stepchildren, Christy Reed of CA; Jennifer Chester of NM; and Eric Lister of IL; beloved grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 2.
