I am so saddened to hear about George's passing.I was shocked as well.George was a friend to everyone he met and kind as well. What fun times we had back in the day on west side and 6th st. all the way back to underwood days. I remember when he used to do the "hulk"impression, crack you up,god he was such a good spirited guy.He would always tell me if he ever got married he would love and respect his wife like no tomorrow.Sounds like he did just that.I will never forget you George Porter and be sure to say hello to my mom (Joan) and wife Theresa.God bless your family in this time of great loss.I will not be able to make the service but will always remember all of the good times I had with you and your entire family, and that is how I should like to remember you. Goodbye to a great friend and wonderful human being. Jimmy(James) I will see you again one day friend.. ~ Jim (James) Cavanagh, San Diego, California

I was shocked early this morning by the news of George's passing. Such an energetic spirit, and full of life, with not many boring events, George was a very colorfull charactor himself with many stories to tell. I worked with George for a little more than 10 years and found that when he finally moved on to another chapter in his life from MYCO, the work atmosphere here at MYCO lost a great deal of humor, George would walk by, and have to stop and tell ya some story that usually left you with a smile. Very hard worker, did not mind doing the jobs that others would not consider. I still do not understand why the Lord decides to take some home earlier than others, but, I thought George would be around a long time telling his stories, but the LORD knows best for all. His passing brings me the awarness of how short life can be and that I need to not take life for granted, and to appreciate all the little blessings the Lord gives me every day. Ya never know, I could be gone tommarrow, I'm only visiting this planet, I'm just passin through!!!!! Rest in peace my friend, and until we meet again, I pray Gods care for your family, Your friend and Co-worker, Lee and Jane Florea
